About the Role

Drive top and bottom line performance by underwriting large, complex accounts with commercial confidence and strong risk judgment. Leverage established market relationships to accelerate new business acquisition and retention, and enhance Allianz Commercial's profile against competitors. Shape portfolio strategy through product development insight, capacity management, and data-driven decision-making. Elevate the team by mentoring junior colleagues and raising collective market visibility.

Responsibilities

Underwrite large new and renewal accounts to meet top and bottom line targets.
Negotiate participation, pricing, and terms and conditions with brokers.
Proactively manage capacity.
Provide expert underwriting perspective in the development of new insurance products, responding to client need or emerging risks.
Underwrite in line with the PVT governance framework (e.g., Underwriting Authorities, global MSU, Underwriting Guidelines, Rules and Principles).
Proactively support acquisition of new business and retention of existing business.
Positively represent Allianz Commercial externally to the market.
Encourage more junior team members to raise their own profile and that of the team.

Requirements

About 5 years’ proven experience in the PVT marketplace, either in underwriting or broking.
Strong understanding of risk assessment, insurance program structure design, and contract wordings.
Recognised relationships with clients and brokers at peer group level and well-established within your reference market.
Excellent communication and influencing skills.
Specialised understanding of regional/national PVT insurance markets and the competitor landscape.
Ability to negotiate effectively achieving the best outcome for the portfolio while maintaining positive business relationships with clients and brokers.
Ability to leverage data and analytics to make business more efficient and effective.
Good understanding of the legal and regulatory framework.
Ability to design, develop and implement consistent, robust wordings for contracts.
Ability to integrate AI-driven insights into work to optimize outcomes and support broader organizational goals.
Ability to work in a global matrix organization.
Fluent English skills.
A willingness to learn and explore how AI can enhance your role and the broader organization is expected.
