Responsibilities
- Lead teams rather than manage, providing mentorship and inspiring confidence.
- Solve problems before they negatively impact the team or the work.
- Maintain focus on the big picture while ensuring the team addresses details.
- Hold the entire team accountable for agency hygiene and creative excellence.
- Influence decisions regarding agency health.
- Lead significant initiatives, such as new campaign development.
- Actively participate in leading new business pitches.
- Develop and hone presentation skills and encourage team members.
- Inspire original, compelling, and strategically sound creative solutions.
- Develop collaborative partnerships with account, planning, and multidisciplinary teams.
- Work closely with account/planning in the development of creative briefs.
- Stay informed about emerging technologies, marketing, and healthcare trends.
- Determine when to be hands-on and when to delegate tasks.
- Contribute to and influence the development of budgets and timelines.
- Anticipate and solve staffing needs.
- Be empathetic, objective, and keep ego in check.
Requirements
- 10 years of art direction experience.
- Formal design training with exceptional conceptual and design skills.
- Expert use of Photoshop, Illustrator, and InDesign.
- Solid presentation capabilities.
- Combination of print and web experience.
- Experience overseeing campaign progression from rough sketches through final production.
- Experience coordinating multiple work groups to ensure projects are completed on time and within budget.
- Experience selecting and supervising outside graphic services.
- Experience leading a project from conception to implementation.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
