About the Role

East Side House (ESH) is a community resource dedicated to expanding opportunities through education, career, and supportive services. The Program Director will lead the Student Success Center (SSC) program, ensuring high-quality college and career readiness services for high school students. This role involves managing staff, partnerships, operations, and program outcomes to facilitate successful transitions into post-secondary education.

Responsibilities

  • Lead and oversee the Student Success Center (SSC) program.
  • Ensure high-quality college and career readiness services.
  • Manage staff, partnerships, operations, and program outcomes.
  • Supervise and develop staff, including College Counselors and Youth Leaders.
  • Support students' college and career readiness.
  • Manage school and community relationships.
  • Monitor data and produce reports on program performance.
  • Coordinate events and special activities.
  • Provide college access and readiness services.
  • Offer student success and graduation support.
  • Facilitate youth leadership development.
  • Conduct case management and student monitoring.
  • Engage families and schools.
  • Manage the day-to-day operations of the Student Success Center.
  • Build and maintain relationships with administration, faculty, staff, students, and families.
  • Provide direct supervision of East Side House support staff through regular meetings.
  • Develop quantitative and qualitative reports on the Student Success Center.
  • Maintain and organize all required records.
  • Work closely with key constituents including DOE staff and CARA.
  • Communicate effectively with students, staff, peers, supervisors, and funders.
  • Participate in department-wide collaborations, staff training, and advocacy.
  • Foster cross-site collaboration with other programs.
  • Lead and participate in administrative and staff meetings.
  • Guide students in removing barriers toward graduation.
  • Engage students in college preparatory activities.
  • Provide supportive services to students.
  • Increase student self-direction and self-sufficiency.
  • Plan and organize program activities to meet contract goals and performance targets.
  • Review student progress documentation for accuracy and completeness.
  • Plan, support, and attend Youth Leader Summer Training and Academic Year Conferences.
  • Provide data collection for Graduation, College, and post-secondary placements.
  • Manage the non-personnel budget and submit requests according to fiscal policies.
  • Ensure program staff follow through on planning, budgetary, scheduling, and implementation tasks.
  • Perform other duties or special projects as assigned by direct supervisor.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in education, human services, or related field.
  • Minimum of 3-5 years’ experience with youth at risk and/or school settings.
  • Experience in post-secondary education work.
  • Experience in program administration, including staff supervision and program implementation.
  • Bi-lingual skills preferred.
  • Excellent verbal, analytical, written, communication, and organizational skills.
  • Intermediate knowledge and experience with Microsoft Office (Word, Teams), Google Suite, and Zoom.
  • Must be clear to work at ESH; employment contingent upon successful completion of background checks and/or screenings.
