About the Role
The Maintenance I employee is responsible for the general maintenance of TNDC facilities and buildings, including providing custodial support when necessary.
Responsibilities
- Perform basic plumbing repairs to water and sewage systems, including replacing fittings and clearing stoppages.
- Repair or replace glass, tile, locks, hinges, and window coverings.
- Perform basic electrical repairs to appliances, fixtures, switches, and circuits.
- Perform basic interior and exterior painting.
- Execute sheetrock repairs.
- Submit completed work orders to the direct supervisor.
- Attend required team, training, safety, and staff meetings.
- Adhere to all safety policies and procedures.
- Respond to building emergencies as part of an after-hours on-call schedule.
Requirements
- One year of residential maintenance or related building experience.
- Ability to lift 75 pounds.
- Ability to climb ladders and stairs.
- General understanding and working application of plumbing, electrical, and carpentry skills.
- Ability to obtain a High-rise Fire Safety Certificate within 6 months.
- Ability to read and communicate in English sufficiently to follow directions.
- Valid California driver's license (preferred).
- Knowledge of Cal/OSHA safety requirements (preferred).
- Second language ability (preferred).
