About the Role

The Maintenance I employee is responsible for the general maintenance of TNDC facilities and buildings, including providing custodial support when necessary.

Responsibilities

  • Perform basic plumbing repairs to water and sewage systems, including replacing fittings and clearing stoppages.
  • Repair or replace glass, tile, locks, hinges, and window coverings.
  • Perform basic electrical repairs to appliances, fixtures, switches, and circuits.
  • Perform basic interior and exterior painting.
  • Execute sheetrock repairs.
  • Submit completed work orders to the direct supervisor.
  • Attend required team, training, safety, and staff meetings.
  • Adhere to all safety policies and procedures.
  • Respond to building emergencies as part of an after-hours on-call schedule.

Requirements

  • One year of residential maintenance or related building experience.
  • Ability to lift 75 pounds.
  • Ability to climb ladders and stairs.
  • General understanding and working application of plumbing, electrical, and carpentry skills.
  • Ability to obtain a High-rise Fire Safety Certificate within 6 months.
  • Ability to read and communicate in English sufficiently to follow directions.
  • Valid California driver's license (preferred).
  • Knowledge of Cal/OSHA safety requirements (preferred).
  • Second language ability (preferred).
