About the Role

This is a remote position for a Mainframe CICS Systems Programmer. The role involves ensuring engineering services are operated, maintained, and upgraded, with potential functions including programming, environmental support, and analysis. The Series CICS Engineer will support and manage all CICS services within the IBM mainframe environment.

Responsibilities

• Install, administrate, maintain, resource definitions and supporting CICS systems software
• Support and maintain CICS production including 'out of hours' troubleshooting
• Provide technical assistance to developers and application support teams
• Design and develop new hardware and software technology solutions
• Lead and direct problem investigation and recovery in complex situations
• Install and test new versions of CICS
• Provide 2nd and 3rd Level Support for applications that use CICS
• Establish the needs of users and monitor user access and security
• Monitor performance and manage parameters to provide fast responses to front-end users
• Develop, manage and test back-up and recovery plans
• Ensure that storage and archiving procedures are functioning correctly
• Ensure there is provision for data security and recovery control

Requirements

• 10+ years of CICS System Programmer or Technical Specialist experience
• 10+ years of proven knowledge of CICS Transaction Server 4.2 and/or 5.3
• 10+ years of proven knowledge of SMP/E
• 10+ years of proven knowledge of Omegamon/CICS
• 10+ years of proven knowledge of ACF2 & RACF
• Must reside in the US
