About the Role

The SMT Machine Operator is responsible for operating automated equipment for assembling printed circuit boards, including program loading, stencil setup, component loading, and machine maintenance.

Responsibilities

  • Pull components based on BOM information.
  • Identify and confirm component information.
  • Load and replenish components into machines.
  • Identify component type and polarity.
  • Perform in-process inspections using magnification and visual aids.
  • Identify and mitigate defects during the assembly process.
  • Collaborate with technicians and engineers to reduce defects and optimize runtime.
  • Perform other assigned duties.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • 1-2 years of related machine experience preferred.
  • Knowledge of electronic component identification is a plus.
  • PCB assembly and soldering experience is a plus.
  • IPC training/certification is a plus.
  • Hands-on experience with mechanical/electronic assembly.
  • Demonstrated ability and willingness to use AI tools to improve productivity, decision-making, work quality, and reduce costs.
  • Ability to identify appropriate AI use cases and critically evaluate AI-generated outputs.
  • Organizational skills required.
  • Demonstrated experience as a team player.
  • Ability to stand and walk routinely.
  • Possess manual dexterity for regular use of hands.
  • Ability to frequently lift and/or move up to 30 pounds.
