About the Role
The State Street Cyber Architecture & Engineering team is seeking a Cloud Security Engineer to deliver tooling and solutions for securing State Street’s digital footprint. This role is open to candidates with varying levels of experience.
Responsibilities
- Undertake cloud service hardening, management of policy-as-code and associated pipelines, cloud security posture monitoring, cloud security consultation and reviews, cloud security enablement activities, and cloud security incident response.
- Develop and maintain CI/CD pipelines for cloud-based applications supporting the security stack in a microservices architecture.
- Support development teams across multiple environments in an AGILE setting to build secure-by-default infrastructure at scale.
- Write deployment tools and scripts in Terraform, CloudFormation, or Ansible to automate operational tasks and deployment of machines, services, and applications.
- Implement and manage security rules and controls tied to cloud preventative and detective controls.
- Audit existing services for security, configuration, or other potential infrastructure issues.
Requirements
- Experience with Terraform, Python, shell scripting, AWS services (EC2, ECS, etc.), and Policy-as-code.
- Some Azure experience.
- At least 3 years of SRE experience administering, installing, and maintaining Linux versions of RHEL, Ubuntu, and CentOS in public cloud environments.
- Working experience with Containers and Kubernetes in AWS, Azure, or OCI cloud infrastructure.
- Scripting/coding experience with continuous delivery (CD) GitOps practices using tools like Harness CI or Jenkins for deploying and maintaining services in AWS, Azure, or OCI cloud environments.
- Deep understanding of either AWS or Azure resources and their limitations.
- Ability to develop tools and automation for system configuration, deployment, and maintenance of cloud security environments while preserving high reliability and availability.
- Solid understanding of Linux Servers, Commands and Troubleshooting, administration, and automation frameworks.
- Ability to align with technical architecture and standards/processes to deliver the best user experience.
