About the Role
The Remote Pilot Operator (RPO) simulates pilots and other controllers in an Air Traffic Controller training simulator, operating a simulated radar display and voice communication system to replicate real-world scenarios for the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA).
Responsibilities
- Operate a simulated radar display and voice communication system.
- Simulate actions and communication of pilots and remote ATC facilities.
- Receive voice commands from students.
- Input entries into the automated system to simulate pilot actions.
- Translate displayed information into appropriate ATC terminology.
- Respond to students via the VCS utilizing proper phraseology.
- Complete classroom and lab certifications, including airspace and procedures tests and performing as an RPO on all positions.

- Must be able to complete required certifications: Classroom (pass test on airspace and procedures) and Lab (perform as a Remote Pilot Operator on all positions).
