About the Role
Operations Aides support one or more classrooms with operational needs and general school operations teams. Responsibilities differ based on school and program needs.
Responsibilities
- Support in the preparation of materials and other clerical support for the classroom teacher
- Supporting or leading in lunch, recess, and arrival duties; supporting with student transitions throughout the day
- Committing to constant professional and personal growth through reflection, feedback, and collaboration
- Modeling KIPP NYC’s character strengths in all interactions and communications with students, families, and staff.
Requirements
- Strong interpersonal skills that contribute to a collegial working environment and a healthy measure of the character traits we value: zest, grit, hope, social intelligence, gratitude and a sense of humor.
- School-based and student support experience strongly preferred
- Undergraduate, graduate student, or non-student looking for hourly work
- A passion for being part of a team-oriented, mission-driven school culture
- A strong desire to become a lead teacher
- Interested in raising the achievement levels of students from the communities KIPP NYC serves
