About the Role
Safety Ambassadors will patrol the city on bike to deter unwanted behavior and activity, while providing information and assistance to downtown workers, residents, and visitors.
Responsibilities
- Serve as a deterrent by patrolling assigned zones to discourage unwanted activity through a visible presence.
- Observe and report unwanted behaviors or criminal activity to local authorities, providing accurate descriptions.
- Address unwanted activities by courteously requesting compliance with low-level quality of life offenses.
- Provide hospitality and customer service by greeting pedestrians and assisting visitors with directions and information.
- Conduct business visits to share information and establish professional contacts.
- Develop written Incident Reports and Property Condition Reports, as well as daily shift activity reports.
- Maintain a positive and professional environment in compliance with all applicable standards.
Requirements
- CA Guard Card Required.
- Must have the physical capacity to ride a bike or traverse continuously during an eight-hour shift.
- Must be able to work outdoors in all conditions with provided inclement weather gear.
- Must be able to speak, read, and write the English language to create basic reports.
