About the Role

Analyze municipal credits across various sectors and the credit spectrum to support public finance banking, sales, underwriting, and trading teams. This role involves supporting bankers in the primary market, including attending issuer meetings and providing credit notes. It also supports sales and trading with secondary market credit analysis.

Responsibilities

  • Monitor and analyze issuer credit quality
  • Monitor and assess general market conditions, legislative, and regulatory changes affecting the municipal market
  • Produce periodic written material on sectors or events impacting the municipal bond market
  • Provide client-related feedback to sales and trading
  • Offer credit and structuring insights to the public finance team and assist with RFP responses, oral presentations, and relationship development
  • Develop relationships across the fixed income platform, including with issuer and investor communities
  • Attend issuer meetings
  • Solicit investor feedback
  • Provide credit notes on select credits to the sales team
  • Serve on the firm’s Commitment Committee
  • Support sales and trading teams with credit support on secondary market trades

Requirements

  • Relevant fundamental credit analysis experience
  • Strong working knowledge of the municipal bond market landscape
  • Ability to gain expertise in various sectors (e.g., tax-backed, utility, airport, pre-paid gas, housing)
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment
  • Ability to work independently and with a team
  • Strong organizational skills
  • Ability to prioritize and multi-task
  • Ability to remain flexible with changing priorities
  • Confident and comfortable interacting with sales, trading, banking, and institutional/issuer clients
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Willing and able to travel to visit clients and participate in public speaking engagements
  • Able to provide writing samples
  • Competency with Bloomberg, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint

Salary/Compensations

  • $130,000.00-$175,000.00
