About the Role
This role is within the Group Procurement Team, focusing on developing and executing category strategy for the IT spend. You will be a trusted advisor to the data and technology team, leading strategic procurement activities, identifying cost efficiencies, and supporting business change programs. The role also involves upskilling the wider business on category management and developing supplier relationships.
Responsibilities
- Being the primary point of contact within the Group Procurement Team for the IT spend category, focusing on category strategy development and execution.
- Influencing and maintaining strong relationships with the data and technology team, supporting the delivery of their strategy and becoming a trusted advisor.
- Leading on strategic procurement activity and identifying cost efficiencies through innovative deal making.
- Supporting strategic change programmes across the business and increasing the adoption of Supply Chain Commitments.
- Upskilling the wider business on category management and supporting the development and delivery of the Supplier Relationship Management program.
- Developing and maintaining strong supplier relationships, contracting, and delivering sustainable value year on year.
- Developing, implementing, advocating, and delivering the short and long-term procurement strategy within the IT category.
- Developing the category strategy for IT and delivering maximum commercial benefit through appropriate procurement processes and contracting.
- Influencing strategic decision-making for IT through cross-functional collaboration.
- Assisting the Head of Procurement in creating the SRM framework and playbook.
- Working collaboratively with Enabling functions and other business areas across the group.
- Overseeing the development of key, strategic supplier relationships and undertaking negotiations.
- Delivering against a personal savings target aligned to the procurement team’s savings target.
- Resolving escalated supplier performance issues.
- Assisting the Head of Procurement with regular procurement updates to various ELT, Board, and Exco sessions.
Requirements
- Excellent IT knowledge and previous experience leading an IT category.
- Proven track record delivering commercial value and successful procurement outcomes.
- Experience operating in a fast-paced environment.
- Experience working with and influencing stakeholders at all levels.
- Advanced negotiation skills with the ability to apply them both externally and internally.
- Strong end-to-end procurement process knowledge.
- Expertise in project management and planning.
- Ability to work independently to meet demanding deadlines.
- Excellent communication and report writing skills.
- Proven experience in managing third-party risk.
