About the Role

Join our team at Brothers of Mercy, where Activities Aides play a vital role in creating meaningful and engaging experiences for our residents. This position allows you to make a direct, positive impact on residents’ daily lives through social, recreational, and therapeutic programs.

Responsibilities

  • Plan, organize, and lead activities including crafts, music programs, exercise groups, sensory activities, videos/movies, social activities, and daily living skill programs tailored to residents' abilities and interests.
  • Lead and facilitate evening programming, including running two scheduled evening activities.
  • Assist with one-on-one interactions and group activities on assigned units.
  • Develop, update, and document resident activity care plans in accordance with departmental and regulatory requirements.
  • Complete accurate documentation of resident participation, engagement, and responses to activities.
  • Set up, maintain, and decorate activity areas to ensure a safe, efficient, and pleasant environment.
  • Transport and seat residents for activities, meals, and special events.
  • Monitor residents during programs, including those who may wander away from activity areas.
  • Assist with meal tray service and transportation to and from meals as needed.
  • Support other departments and assist with resident needs as necessary to ensure quality care and a positive resident experience.

Requirements

  • Experience in recreation, activities, therapeutic programming, or direct care preferred.
  • Basic computer proficiency and willingness to learn the PCC (PointClickCare) system.
  • Experience with resident documentation and care planning preferred, or the ability to learn.
  • Compassionate, dependable, and positive attitude.
  • Strong communication, organizational, and teamwork skills.
  • Ability to engage residents in meaningful activities and adapt programs to individual needs.
  • Ability to work evening hours and lead scheduled evening programs.

Salary/Compensations

  • $17.00 - $18.00 Hourly
