About the Role
The Seamstress Tailor ensures Team Members are outfitted with clean, properly fitted, and well-maintained uniforms by providing alterations, repairs, fittings, and wardrobe support while maintaining inventory and records.
Responsibilities
- Perform uniform fittings, alterations, and repairs, including hemming, mending, and replacing zippers and buttons.
- Measure and prepare uniforms for new Team Members prior to their start dates.
- Ensure uniforms are properly fitted and maintained to support a professional appearance.
- Monitor wardrobe inventory and notify the Manager of supply and material needs.
- Maintain accurate wardrobe, sewing, shift communication, and borrowed item records.
- Conduct quarterly inventories of wardrobe materials and supplies.
Requirements
- Previous commercial or industrial sewing experience, or equivalent seamstress training, required.
- Proficiency in operating sewing machines and related equipment.
- Strong oral and written communication skills.
- Ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines.
- Knowledge of fabrics and the ability to create or alter garments with or without patterns.
- Ability to accurately distinguish colors.
- Ability to take precise measurements.
