About the Role

Base is seeking an Electronics Design Engineer to own the end-to-end design and validation of energy storage systems, including inverters, batteries, and interconnect devices, from concept through manufacturing and deployment. This role is for individuals experienced in taking systems from schematic to production, with expertise in high voltage designs, embedded systems, and hardware validation within a fast-paced, collaborative setting.

Responsibilities

  • End-to-end ownership of energy storage systems (inverter, battery, Microgrid interconnect device) designs including specifications, architecture, schematic capture, PCB layout, board bring up, validation, and overseeing reliability and functional testing.
  • Collaboration with cross functional teams (mechanical, firmware, test, reliability etc.) to see products through high volume manufacturing.
  • Design and execute high voltage and high current validation of inverter, battery and BMS designs.
  • Debug complex component interactions at the system level.

Requirements

  • Degree in Electrical Engineering or related discipline, or equivalent experience.
  • Digital and analog circuit design, including high voltage circuits or power supply design.
  • Printed circuit board design (Altium) and initial bring-up: debugging, soldering, wiring, mechanical assembly.
  • Familiarity with embedded firmware, microcontrollers and their peripherals, python scripting or similar.
  • Familiarity with lab equipment including oscilloscopes, function generators, power supplies.
  • Experience with power semiconductors (MOSFETs, IGBTs).
  • Knowledge of electric motors, thermal design, and/or mechanical design.
  • Experience with automotive networking (CAN, LIN, Ethernet).
  • Basic control theory, including importance of sensor bandwidths, filtering.
