About the Role
The Market Sales VP will execute local market-specific sales strategies, drive profitable sales with the retail sales team and business unit, and manage all local market specific DSD sales activities. This role involves maintaining close contact with ASDs regarding business relationships with Independent Distributor Partners (IDPs) and identifying opportunities to grow business through key customer accounts.
Responsibilities
- Executing sales strategies based on guidance from VP of Regional Sales and VP of Division Sales
- Working cross-functionally with bakeries on product quality, late delivery dispatch, and other sales-impacting issues
- Partnering with ASDs to execute local sales plans and pursue profitable new business to achieve goals
- Maintaining close contact with VP of Regional Sales and providing updates on performance results and competitor activity
- Working with ASDs to analyze reports from digital sales teams, distributor enablement, revenue growth management, and utilizing the Customer Product Profitability (CPP) dashboard
- Ensuring ASDs work daily with fundamentals (displays, customer relations, time schedule and callbacks, space and position, and distribution)
- Assisting ASDs in selling and general/IDP relationship efforts, and providing industry standards and best practices advice
- Responsible for usage of digital products and the Go Spot Check (GSC) tool for daily and focused missions
- Monitoring units and dollar sales, profit margin, and stale using the GSC tool and reporting to drive business conversations
- Providing ASDs with proper guidance, direction, and assistance to achieve profit goals and compliance with policies and procedures
- Conducting weekly meetings with ASDs to discuss performance against perfect store execution
- Coaching and mentoring ASDs in the understanding and use of available information and professional presentation of information/knowledge
- Interacting with and visiting key customer accounts as assigned to build rapport and increase selling opportunities
- Maintaining close contact with other Market Sales VPs and Retail Team to stay informed on cross-regional activity and share key successes
- Ensuring compliance with all company policies and procedures (EEO, Sexual Harassment, Sarbanes – Oxley, Safety, Mandatory Training, etc.)
- Performing other duties which are deemed to be an integral part of the position
- Partnering with the Human Resources Department to develop a succession plan, employee development, employee engagement and retention
Requirements
- Relevant experience in general management or sales
- Previous experience as Sales Consultant preferred
- Bachelor’s degree in Sales or Business Administration preferred
- Equivalent combination of education, experience, and skills may supplement above minimum job requirements
