About the Role
The assistant manager supports the sales center manager in overseeing business operations to drive sales, profitability, market share, and customer and employee satisfaction.
Responsibilities
- Assist with customer service, sales, warehouse operations, inventory management, and safety.
- Hire, train, direct, and manage sales center personnel.
- Develop and evaluate employees to meet corporate and personal objectives.
- Safeguard company assets including inventory, cash, equipment, vehicles, and facilities.
- Implement and monitor company policies for safe and efficient operations.
- Assist in developing and monitoring sales center policies, budgets, and goals.
- Participate in community and industry organizations to build professional networks.
- Enforce credit policies in cooperation with the Credit Department.
- Maintain high ethical standards and compliance with government regulations.
- Maintain proficiency in computerized systems and technologies.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree or two years of warehousing or distribution experience.
- Prior experience in site budget development and monitoring P&L statistics.
- Prior experience managing accounts receivables.
- Strong sales aptitude.
- Ability to perform business math including percentages, ratios, and discounts.
- Ability to read, analyze, and interpret business periodicals and technical procedures.
- Ability to write reports and business correspondence.
- Ability to solve practical problems with limited standardization.
- Valid driver’s license and clean driving record.
- Successful completion of pre-employment drug testing and background verification.
