About the Role
The Maintenance/Cleaner (Full Time, onsite) supports the Early Head Start site in Kingston by keeping the building safe, sanitary, and in good working order.
Responsibilities
- Perform commercial custodial cleaning of classrooms, bathrooms, offices, and common areas.
- Manage trash removal and provide laundry support.
- Receive deliveries and respond to spills and weather-related messes.
- Complete routine facility upkeep and minor repairs (basic plumbing, electrical, and carpentry).
- Conduct safety/security checks of the property and playground areas.
- Operate equipment such as vacuums, floor scrubbers, and carpet shampooers.
- Use cleaning chemicals according to safety procedures.
- Perform seasonal duties including snow removal and salt/sanding.
- Maintain basic logs using a computer.
- Drive as needed for supply runs.
Requirements
- Commercial custodial and facilities maintenance experience.
- Knowledge of cleaning chemicals and safe handling.
- Basic handyman skills.
- Strong attention to detail.
- Physical stamina; ability to lift/move materials.
- Basic computer literacy.
- Valid driver’s license.
