About the Role
The Spa & Salon Receptionist will be responsible for answering calls, booking appointments, and providing top-quality guest service for the pool & spa clientele, all while adhering to Seneca Gaming Corporation's policies and procedures.
Responsibilities
- Greet guests cordially and professionally.
- Answer incoming calls, book appointments, take messages, and transfer calls.
- Resolve problems or provide requested information.
- Listen to and resolve customer complaints and problems.
- Receive payment and record receipts for services.
- Receive, open, and distribute incoming mail.
- Maintain inventory of supplies and requisition items.
- Maintain department and administrative records and files.
- Keep a current record of staff schedules and availability.
- Maintain the lobby or reception area by caring for plants and straightening magazines.
- Provide information about the establishment, its employees, and services.
- Assist and instruct spa guests on proper and safe equipment use.
- Ensure locker room, pool, spa, and exercise areas are stocked with amenities.
- Collect soiled linens and replenish areas with fresh supplies.
- Perform cleaning duties to ensure sanitary and safe locker room, pool, shower, Jacuzzi, steam room, exercise, and cardiovascular areas.
- Complete and maintain records of water/pool conditions, emergency medical treatments, and incidents.
- Inspect recreational equipment for safety hazards and damage.
- Assist department managers as needed.
- Maintain an understanding of information security policies and procedures.
- Provide exceptional customer service and communicate pleasantly, friendly, and professionally.
- Maintain a professional work environment with supervisors, managers, and staff.
- Meet attendance guidelines and adhere to regulatory, departmental, and company policies.
- Complete all required SGC Training programs within nine months of employment.
- Attend all necessary meetings.
Requirements
- Must be 18 years of age or older.
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- Three to five years of administrative/clerical work experience preferred.
- Experience in a spa/salon is preferred.
- Experience with money handling and operating a cash register.
- Excellent knowledge of English grammar, punctuation, and spelling.
- Computer proficiency with office programs including Microsoft Word.
- Must present a professional appearance and demeanor when dealing with the public.
- Must possess excellent communication skills.
- Ability to write routine correspondence and speak effectively to the public, employees, and customers.
- Ability to deal effectively and interact well with customers and employees.
- Ability to resolve problems/conflicts in a diplomatic and tactful manner.
- Required to climb or balance; stoop, kneel, couch or crawl.
- Lifting of spa/exercise equipment required.
- Must be able to stand, walk, and move through all areas of the casino/resort.
- Maintain physical stamina and proper mental attitude to work under pressure in a fast-paced, casino environment.
- Must be able to work in an environment where smoking is permitted.
