About the Role
Provide technical leadership for the architecture, design, development, integration, and validation of embedded systems powering UAV platforms. Define firmware architecture, guide hardware-software co-design, and lead cross-functional engineering efforts from concept through production.
Responsibilities
- Lead the architecture, design, and development of embedded systems and firmware for advanced UAV platforms.
- Define embedded software architectures, technical standards, and development best practices.
- Collaborate with hardware engineering teams on MCU selection, hardware-software partitioning, system optimization, and design reviews.
- Lead firmware integration, system validation, and debugging across hardware, software, communications, and manufacturing environments.
- Investigate and resolve complex cross-functional technical issues through systematic root cause analysis and corrective actions.
- Coordinate technical activities across firmware, hardware, systems integration, test, validation, and manufacturing teams.
- Support product lifecycle activities, including prototype development, New Product Introduction (NPI), production readiness, and manufacturing handoff.
- Mentor embedded engineers, provide technical leadership, manage engineering risks, and contribute to technology strategy and long-term product roadmaps.
Requirements
- 6+ years of experience designing and developing embedded systems for complex electronic products.
- Experience leading embedded software development through the complete product lifecycle from prototype to production.
- Demonstrated technical leadership within multidisciplinary engineering teams.
- Strong expertise in embedded systems architecture and firmware development.
- Experience designing real-time embedded systems using RTOS (FreeRTOS or equivalent).
- Proficiency in low-level embedded software, device drivers, hardware abstraction layers (HAL), and MCU peripherals.
- Experience with hardware-software co-design, MCU selection, and embedded system optimization.
- Strong debugging and troubleshooting skills across embedded hardware and firmware.
- Experience with system integration, validation, verification, and root cause analysis.
