About the Role

The Getty Digital Interpretive Development Team is seeking a Senior Software Engineer to steward Getty.edu and a suite of rich media experiences. This role involves shaping how visitors discover and engage with Getty's work through collaborative, high-quality software development.

Responsibilities

  • Design and build integrations with internal CMS APIs
  • Architect and develop Backend for Frontend (BFF) to optimize data delivery
  • Develop performant, scalable front-end applications using Vue.js
  • Build and maintain application-level services for real-time events and workflows
  • Utilize and support CI/CD pipelines for reliable software deployment
  • Streamline team workflows by identifying and resolving development bottlenecks
  • Partner with UX researchers, designers, and stakeholders to deliver accessible digital experiences
  • Participate in the full software development lifecycle including design, testing, and code reviews
  • Provide constructive feedback to peers to foster engineering excellence

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in a related field or equivalent combination of education and experience
  • 5-8 years of software development experience
  • Must reside within a commutable distance of the Getty campus
  • Must work on-site at least one day per week
