About the Role
Hudson Valley Community College is seeking experienced, dynamic, capable, creative, and caring individuals to join our Faculty team. Teaching assignments may include weekend, evening, and online. This probationary position will begin August 31, 2026.
Responsibilities
- Must maintain current knowledge of professional specialty and educational methodology through continuing professional development.
- Will formulate and adhere to program entrance requirements.
- Collaborate with the Program Coordinator for the acceptance of students in the program.
- Develop course outlines according to the college policy which incorporate the content specified by the ARDMS.
- Provide academic advisements for students enrolled.
- Assign students to clinical rotations.
- Evaluate clinical education effectiveness through regular site visits to clinical education centers and student competency assessments.
- Instruct courses and/or labs associated with the program in accordance to college policies.
- Facilitate annual Advisory Board and clinical instructor meetings.
- Research potential clinical education sites.
- Maintain programmatic accreditation with the Joint Review Committee on education in Diagnostic Medical Sonography (JRC-DMS).
Requirements
- Bachelor's Degree in an allied health field or other discipline relevant to the program from an accredited college or university.
- Possess a credential in the field of adult echocardiography through the ARDMS (or national equivalent).
- Have a minimum total of five years of experience in the field of echocardiography, either as a practicing sonographer or as an instructor in echocardiography, or a combination of both, within the past ten years.
- Experience in curriculum and/or program development.
- Post-secondary teaching experience in echocardiography or related discipline.
- Familiarity with student academic advisement at a post-secondary institution.
- Must currently hold unrestricted employment authorization to work in the United States.
- Appointment will be contingent upon completion of a background check.
