About the Role

The Director, Risk Management leads the development, implementation, and coordination of a centralized first-line of defense (LOD1) regulatory and audit management program. This role ensures consistent risk program execution across business lines and aligns with Enterprise Risk Management to maintain the company's three-lines-of-defense structure.

Responsibilities

  • Build and manage a centralized LOD1 regulatory and audit management function.
  • Act as the business liaison to Enterprise Risk Management, Operational Risk Management, and Compliance.
  • Monitor applicable regulations and assess business impact.
  • Partner with Enterprise Risk Management to execute Risk and Control Self Assessments.
  • Collaborate with Business Continuity Management on BC/DR tests and maintain recovery plans.
  • Oversee and monitor third-party relationships for performance and risk.
  • Design process maps and maintain process and internal control inventories.
  • Design, maintain, and report KPIs and KRIs to demonstrate control effectiveness.
  • Identify and self-report issues through the ERM process.
  • Track risk remediation plans to ensure timely and sustainable completion.
  • Support the Risk Acceptance Forms (RAF) process.
  • Drive executive-level reporting on business risk management activities.
  • Develop 1LOD risk management governance processes.
  • Deliver education and awareness regarding risk ownership.
  • Perform internal control effectiveness test plans and procedures.
  • Lead or mentor risk professionals.
  • Ensure regulatory and audit activities comply with ERM requirements.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Finance, Accounting, Technology, Security, or related field.
  • 12+ years of progressive risk-related experience in financial services or a three-lines-of-defense program.
  • Demonstrated success leading regulatory, audit, or risk functions in a 3LOD environment.
  • Ability to work effectively in a complex, highly regulated environment.
  • Excellent problem-solving and change management skills.
  • Working knowledge of regulatory requirements specific to financial services or payments.
  • Excellent communication, organization, and interpersonal skills.
  • Effective influence management skills.
  • Must possess eligibility to work in the United States without Visa sponsorship.
  • Successful completion of background and drug screen.
