About the Role

Join our dynamic in-house Global Tax Operations team as a Senior Tax Manager, playing a pivotal role in driving UK tax compliance and supporting group tax reporting processes for a FTSE 100 company. This role offers an excellent opportunity to influence UK tax compliance and accounting.

Responsibilities

  • Support the preparation and review of UK corporation tax computations and other UK obligations, including patent box and capital allowances.
  • Delegate and review analysis for tax activities prepared by finance colleagues.
  • Support the operation of wider tax governance processes, including Corporate Criminal Offence legislation and Senior Accounting Officer regime obligations.
  • Review and advise on UK tax issues, including Corporate Interest Restriction rules and Controlled Foreign Companies risk assessments.
  • Stay informed about changes in UK tax legislation, assess implications, and design process changes.
  • Liaise with UK accounting teams to ensure accurate and timely delivery of information for tax reporting, computations, and audits.
  • Prepare responses to HMRC audit queries and participate in meetings and negotiations with HMRC.
  • Provide day-to-day tax advice to the UK business and assess project implications on UK compliance and tax accounting.
  • Prepare quarterly and year-end tax provisions for UK reporting and Group consolidation, ensuring Sarbanes-Oxley compliance and collaborating with auditors.
  • Input into group planning and forecasting cycles.
  • Help drive process efficiencies through automation and AI.

Requirements

  • Qualified (ACCA, ACA, CTA) tax professional with good accounting skills.
  • Significant experience in UK corporate tax compliance and reporting.
  • Ability to monitor changes in UK tax legislation, assess business impact, and translate changes into updated processes or controls.
  • Experience contributing to group planning, budgeting, and forecasting cycles from a tax perspective.
  • Strong analytical and research skills.
  • Ability to utilize technology effectively to operate tax processes.
  • Ability to lead and progress numerous actions in a coordinated and organised manner.
  • Efficient process management and delegation skills.
  • Ability to work to tight deadlines.
  • Interest or experience in automation and AI-enabled process improvement.
