About the Role

Democracy Prep seeks a leader and educator committed to scholar success and civic engagement. This role involves instructional coaching, supporting school operations, and fostering a culture of diversity, equity, and inclusion.

Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with the school leader to achieve campus-specific goals.
  • Provide instructional coaching to teachers to improve scholar achievement.
  • Evaluate lesson plans, observe classes, and lead professional development.
  • Manage student disciplinary issues in collaboration with the school leader.
  • Oversee the organization of school-wide events.
  • Support the school leader in operational aspects of the school.
  • Assist in managing and implementing school operational procedures.
  • Support teachers and staff in data analysis to drive instruction.
  • Foster a culture of civic engagement and scholar self-advocacy.
  • Manage the civic coordinator and collaborate with the Civics Program Director.
  • Communicate events, programming, and civic engagement practices.

Requirements

  • A leader and educator with a commitment to the Democracy Prep mission.
  • A highly effective teacher with a track record of raising student achievement for at least four years.
  • A self-reflective and self-aware teammate committed to anti-racist classrooms and schools.
  • An educator who values diverse perspectives and empowers young people.
  • A constant learner willing to reevaluate understanding based on new information and data.
  • A proven teacher leader with experience leading or coaching adults in a campus-based leadership role.
