About the Role
As an Administrative Officer at Chingford Crematorium, you will provide high-quality administrative support to ensure the smooth, efficient, and dignified delivery of cremation services. You will be a key point of contact, working closely with funeral directors, colleagues, and bereaved families with sensitivity and professionalism.
Responsibilities
- Managing bookings and coordinating cremation service arrangements
- Maintaining accurate statutory records and documentation in line with legislative requirements
- Supporting day-to-day operational logistics of the crematorium
- Providing a compassionate and professional service to bereaved families and stakeholders
- Ensuring all processes are compliant with relevant policies, procedures, and regulations
Requirements
- GCSEs or equivalent (required)
- NVQ Level 3 in Business Administration or similar (preferred)
- ICCM training or awareness of cemetery and crematorium charter standards (advantageous)
- Satisfactory employment references and CIFAS identity checks
- Satisfactory DBS check
- Fluent English speaking ability for public-facing roles
- Must already hold a form of UK work authorization that does not require sponsorship
Skills
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to handle sensitive situations with tact, empathy, and discretion
- Strong organisational skills and attention to detail
- Experience of working in an administrative role within a regulated environment
- Commitment to accurate record keeping and adherence to processes and legislation
