About the Role

The Studio Manager will be responsible for the smooth running of the Studio, proactively problem-solving day-to-day issues and managing a team of studio assistants to maintain a slick and tidy operation.

Responsibilities

  • Elevate and promote WPP’s flagship studio to WPP and external facing stakeholders including clients and creative agencies.
  • Manage the internal team including stylists, shoot talent and studio assistants to build culture and keep the teams engaged and pro-actively working on test shoots and portfolio building when it’s quieter.
  • Oversee studio scheduling, resource allocation, and team coordination to support multiple concurrent productions and projects when the resource manager is on leave.
  • Manage all aspects of daily shoot studio operations, ensuring an efficient, safe, and productive environment.
  • Partner with production teams, creative leads, and external vendors to understand project requirements and deliver exceptional studio support.
  • Maintain with external crew members, suppliers and key production contacts so they can be called on for productions and test shoots.
  • Manage relationships with key operational vendors (e.g., equipment suppliers, maintenance contractors).
  • Manage studio consumables and sundries budgets, track expenses, and identify opportunities for cost efficiency and resource optimisation.
  • Assist with continuous improvement initiatives for studio workflows, technologies, and infrastructure to enhance operational effectiveness and output quality.
  • Maintain high-quality customer service touchpoints within the Studio, delivering a consistent industry-leading experience for our teams and clients.

Requirements

  • A passion for evangelising studio workflows and best practices.
  • Exceptional organisational skills with the ability to prioritise tasks, manage complex schedules, and allocate resources effectively when required.
  • Proven ability to lead, motivate, and coordinate studio teams and external vendors.
  • Proficiency in budget management, resource optimisation, and operational efficiency.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, capable of building strong relationships with diverse stakeholders.
  • A proactive and problem-solving mindset, adaptable to dynamic production environments and unexpected challenges.
  • Commitment to upholding high standards of health, safety, and operational compliance.
