Responsibilities
- Monitor clients, units, and grounds to ensure resident security and safety.
- Examine all items entering the facility to ensure client and staff safety.
- Provide crisis prevention and intervention as needed.
- Record incidents and residents' grievances in a logbook and on an incident report.
- Maintain ongoing communication with department supervisors concerning social services issues.
- Manage entry logs to ensure all persons entering the facility are recorded and accounted for.
- Participate in the development of site goals and objectives by making recommendations for site efficiency.
- Assist clients with questions and resolve issues.
- Monitor video surveillance of all areas of the facility.
- Adhere to safety, health, and fire hazard guidelines, policies, and procedures.
- Report immediate safety hazards to appropriate supervisory or maintenance personnel.
- Work diplomatically to solve issues.
- Provide coverage when necessary.
- Work evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed.
- Perform all other required duties to ensure the facility is running efficiently.
Requirements
- Ability to establish and maintain professional boundaries in working with clients.
- Knowledge of H.I.P.P.A. guidelines and standards.
- Ability to assess emergencies and respond effectively.
Skills
- General knowledge of working in a residential facility preferred.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.
- Good judgment with the ability to make timely and sound decisions.

Education Level

- N.Y.S. Security License
- F-80 Certificate of Fitness
