About the Role

The House Electrician III is responsible for the installation, maintenance, and repair of electrical systems, apparatus, and components of industrial machinery, equipment, and the site. This role involves hands-on assembly and disassembly of components, adhering to electrical codes, manuals, schematics, and specifications. The position also includes training other electricians and subcontractors, all while operating within Seneca Gaming Corporation's policies and procedures.

Responsibilities

Design, plan, layout, install, and service all phases of commercial electrical systems, including service entrances, distribution, emergency generator systems, advanced lighting systems, motor controls, wiring in classified locations, and fire alarm systems.
Maintain and repair machinery, equipment, physical structures, and electrical systems of industrial machinery and facilities according to electrical code specifications, blueprints, manuals, and electrical schematics.
Design, plan layout, and install wiring and conduit, including cutting, threading, bending, coupling, and strapping conduit up to 4 inches in size.
Diagnose and repair malfunctioning electrical apparatus, transformers, motors, lighting fixtures, wiring, and electrical/electronic components using test equipment.
Work on circuits up to and including 13,200 volts, adhering to NFPA 70E standards.
Diagnose, repair, and/or replace damaged or broken wires, cables, and faulty electrical components of machines and building wiring.
Interpret complex wiring and line drawings, and prepare switching plans to safely de-energize switchgear for service and testing with minimal operational impact.
Develop load shedding schemes to maximize facility operations during maintenance or emergency situations.
Operate emergency generation equipment and connect it to building loads during emergencies, understanding phasing and synchronizing of generated sources.
Install, wire, troubleshoot, and repair variable frequency drives (VFDs) using wiring diagrams, owner's manuals, and technical documents, including diagnosing fault codes and setting parameters.
Perform medium voltage switching and racking in and out of medium voltage switches.
Install, troubleshoot, test, and repair telecommunication and data wiring, devices, and terminations per EIA-TIA standards, including labeling all installations.
Install, troubleshoot, and verify fiber optic cable installations, including fiber ducts and strand termination.
Install, service, and repair complex sign circuits and controls, working safely on suspended work platforms up to 350 feet.
Work on low, medium, and high voltage systems.
Install power supply wiring and conduit for new machines, equipment, robotics, conveyors, PLCs, CNCs, and other programmable control instruments.
Inspect and operate programmable controllers to check for malfunctions and verify repairs.
Repair electronic components using electronic test equipment, replacement parts, brazing, soldering, welding equipment, and other tools.
Guide day-to-day operations of on-site electricians, including training staff and planning/scheduling work for electricians and subcontractors.
Instruct on work safety practices and procedures for electrical projects.
Direct the installation of coaxial and fiber optic cable projects, telephone systems, computer wiring, intercom systems, time clocks, fire and security systems, street lights, audio/visual lighting, conveyors, and other electronic equipment.
Perform all levels of preventative, corrective, and emergency maintenance on building equipment.
Troubleshoot control issues and load programs.
Maintain a current understanding of information security policies and procedures.
Provide exceptional customer service to patrons in a pleasant, friendly, and professional manner.
Maintain a professional work environment with supervisors, managers, and staff.
Meet attendance guidelines and adhere to regulatory, departmental, and company policies.
Complete all required SGC Training programs within nine months of employment.
Attend all necessary meetings.
Perform other related duties as required.

Requirements

Must be 18 years of age or older.
High school diploma or equivalent required.
Completed an apprentice program, journeyman training, and possess a Master Electrician’s license or demonstrated equivalent knowledge and experience.
Ten years of previous hands-on electrical experience, with at least 3 years involving training and guidance of electrical trades.
Knowledge and experience in commercial electrical applications required.
Ability to read, interpret, and understand electrical one-line diagrams, three-line diagrams, schematics, and drawings.
Ability to troubleshoot circuits, motors, and equipment using drawings and owner's manuals.
Well-versed in the interpretation and implementation of the National Electrical Code, New York State Uniform Building and Fire Prevention Code, National Fire Prevention Association, and Occupational Safety and Health Association.
Knowledge of UPS systems, static, manual, and automatic bypass switches, battery maintenance and testing, and open/closed transition transfer switches.
Ability to read, interpret, and implement architectural, engineering, and design drawings.
Experienced directing work performed by subcontractors to ensure compliance with contract specifications.
Organize job plans, work with and direct other employees on joint projects, and monitor job progress.
Proven ability to act as a lead Electrician and mentor other Electricians.
Possess and maintain a valid driver’s license and a safe driving record.
Make effective decisions by analyzing information and considering priorities.
Knowledge of electrical terminology.
Ability to read blueprints and drawings.
Supply management, basic safety, equipment maintenance, thoroughness, independence, and excellent communication skills.
Well-versed in safety procedures to prevent electrical shock and falls.
Ability to write routine correspondence, develop presentations, proposals, and reports.
Ability to speak effectively to management, employees, and the public.
Ability to deal effectively and interact well with customers and employees.
Ability to resolve problems/conflicts in a diplomatic and tactful manner.
In good physical condition, with good manual dexterity and good color sense.
Able to stand, walk, and move through all areas of the casino, including interior/exterior environments, tight spaces, and areas of considerable height (90 feet).
Able to perform heavy/strenuous manual work.
Able to work in temperatures below 32°F and above 90°F.
Maintain physical stamina and mental attitude to work under pressure in a fast-paced casino environment.
Good eye-hand coordination, excellent eyesight, and manual dexterity.
Must complete all required SGC Training programs within nine (9) months from commencement of employment.
Attend all necessary meetings.
Hours are determined by a 24-hour schedule.
