About the Role
Wellcome Trust is seeking a Head of Enterprise Architect to lead and shape the organisation’s technology landscape, providing strategic guidance to the CIO, building an enterprise architecture capability, and driving simplification, governance, and innovation across all systems and data.
Responsibilities
- Lead and shape the organisation’s technology landscape.
- Provide strategic guidance to the CIO.
- Build an enterprise architecture capability.
- Drive simplification, governance, and innovation across all systems and data.
- Define how technology works across the entire organisation, ensuring it is simplified, future-ready, well-governed, and aligned to Wellcome’s mission.
- Build the architecture capability from the ground up.
- Advise at executive level.
- Assess, assure, and improve the control environment across technology systems.
- Lead teams.
- Manage budgets.
- Build high-performing, inclusive functions.
Requirements
- Enterprise-level architecture experience.
- Led strategic technology initiatives.
- Worked in cross-functional teams.
- Influenced senior leadership or Board-level stakeholders.
- Comfortable building a capability from scratch.
- Comfortable shaping processes and governance.
- Proven experience implementing enterprise architecture strategies.
- Proven experience building architecture capabilities.
- Familiarity with TOGAF or equivalent architecture standards.
- Strong technical understanding across multiple domains: applications, data, integration, emerging technologies (AI/ML).
