About the Role
We are hiring a builder-architect to lead AI-first transformation at Sauce, starting with our operations department. This role requires an individual who can take an operational business problem end-to-end, acting as their own PM, designing the architecture, and building until it's solved. You will operate across teams and codebases in an R&D organization, driving it into the AI-first era. This is a 10X-accelerator role where you own scoping, solution design, delivery, and adoption.
Responsibilities
- Own operations problems end-to-end, including understanding pain, defining solutions, acting as PM, architecting, building, shipping, and iterating until production-ready.
- Drive AI transformation across the company by introducing AI-first practices into an R&D organization with legacy habits.
- Introduce and champion new tooling, proving its value with shipped results.
- Design and deploy agentic systems, including AI agents, human-in-the-loop workflows, operational UIs, CRM integrations, and n8n/orchestration pipelines.
- Cross boundaries freely to work in other teams' code, domains, and stacks.
- Work directly with business stakeholders to translate operational feedback into precise, well-architected solutions.
- Set priorities in collaboration with the VP, R&D, and business and ops leadership.
Requirements
- Experience as a technical founder, having built products or companies, with a passion for building.
- Ability to function as a PM, Architect, and Engineer simultaneously, writing and executing requirements.
- Strong software architecture skills, capable of building extensible systems and clean extensions.
- Deep, current, hands-on experience with LLMs, agents, and AI-assisted development.
- Relentless drive to solve problems.
- Comfort working in unfamiliar codebases, stacks, and business areas.
- Proven ability to drive transformation and change how a team or company works.
- Experience with AI agents in production, including tool use, structured outputs, multi-step orchestration, evals, and human-in-the-loop design.
- Experience with ops automation using platforms like n8n, operational UIs, and CRM integrations.
- Expertise in AI-first development tools like Cursor or Claude Code.
- Full-stack development experience with Node.js + React or equivalent, and PostgreSQL or similar.
- Strong understanding of architecture, including API design, third-party integrations, and cloud deployment (Azure / AWS / GCP).
- Awareness of security best practices when working with emerging technologies.
