About the Role

The Senior Business Coordinator will drive innovation and business improvement within Building Commission NSW’s Licensing and Accreditation directorate by identifying and implementing opportunities to leverage innovative solutions across licensing assessment processes. This role involves analyzing workflows, identifying inefficiencies, and supporting the design and implementation of improved assessment solutions, providing expert advice, and coordinating project activities.

Responsibilities

  • Interpreting and applying legislation, regulations, policies, and case law, including the Home Building Act 1989 and the Design and Building Practitioners Act 2020, to provide advice and support decision-making.
  • Identifying opportunities for process improvement and increased efficiency in licensing application and assessment processes.
  • Providing specialist advice and support on relevant legislation, systems, policies, and procedures.
  • Analyzing business processes and providing recommendations on process redesign and transformation.
  • Managing competing priorities, risks, and project milestones.
  • Leading or supporting continuous improvement and innovation programs.
  • Supporting change management and business readiness activities.
  • Participating in working groups and providing subject matter expertise.
  • Coordinating business improvement initiatives from concept to implementation.
  • Preparing clear documentation, reports, and draft business requirements.

Requirements

  • In-depth expertise of the Home Building Act 1989, the Design and Building Practitioners Act 2020, and other relevant legislation.
  • In-depth knowledge of licensing application and assessment processes.
  • Capability to proactively identify issues and accurately capture them to support continuous improvement.
  • Superior judgement and accountability for decisions.
  • Proven experience working on projects and initiatives, effectively managing competing priorities and ensuring outcomes are achieved within agreed timeframes.
  • Superior written communication skills and the ability to express complex issues concisely and logically.
  • Strong skills in analyzing end-to-end workflows, identifying inefficiencies, and redesigning processes to improve productivity, compliance, and customer outcomes.
