About the Role
The Underwriter III reviews and underwrites large books of business, diverse accounts, and evaluates complex risk scenarios or situations.
Responsibilities
- Participates in rate-making meetings, bringing regional-specific items for vetting.
- Evaluates and assesses each component of a book of business and its impact.
- Evaluates requests for appeals and departmental audits.
- Presents presentations/webinars for underwriters, marketing, and agency groups.
- Coordinates with management and liaisons to address agent performance issues.
- Educates, coaches, and trains agents on underwriting procedures, philosophy, and new products.
- Supports agents and field management in developing profitable books of business.
- Assists agents and field management on guideline and process changes via teleconferences, webinars, and in-person presentations.
- Leads and coordinates smaller independent projects, often involving cross-departmental collaboration.
Requirements
- Four plus years of P&C Underwriting experience.
- Applicants must be legally authorized to work in the United States.
- No sponsorship or assumption of sponsorship of employment visas at this time.
Skills
- Farming or Commercial industry knowledge.
- AALU, AU, AINS certification.
- Applicable designation strongly preferred, or progress towards.
