About the Role

Under the supervision of the Residential Manager, the Assistant Manager will provide direct oversight of service planning and clinical/health care services, and manage day-to-day activities for an assigned residence.

Responsibilities

  • Works in partnership with the people we support to ensure their rights, health, safety, and personal outcomes are supported.
  • Advocates with people we support in various situations.
  • Teaches new life skills to people we support.
  • Assists people we support to overcome barriers and establish/maintain relationships and social roles.
  • Supervises, trains, evaluates, and observes assigned Direct Support Professionals (DSP).
  • Ensures all required documentation is completed appropriately and in a timely manner.
  • Prevents, recognizes, and reports abuse toward people we support.
  • Provides ongoing protective oversight to individuals living in the residence.
  • Maintains ongoing, respectful communication with all individuals, including those supported, supervisors, team members, and the community.
  • Provides emergency coverage and covers DSP responsibilities as needed.
  • Coordinates, supports, attends, and participates in all required events, meetings, reviews, and committees.
  • Maintains the confidentiality of information relating to individuals and employees.
  • Ensures the residence, including external property, is clean, safe, and attractive.
  • Completes all required trainings and stays in compliance.
  • Ensures all required documentation (paper and electronic) is completed/processed appropriately, in a timely manner, and meets quality and compliance thresholds.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.
  • Ensures compliance with FREE policies, procedures, and operating standards.
  • Implements a continuous quality improvement process for department services and administrative functions.
  • Assists in the development, implementation, and administration of Human Resources policies and programs, including compliance with Equal Employment Opportunities and Affirmative Action Programs.

Requirements

  • Minimum one (1) year of experience working with individuals with disabilities.
  • Supervisory experience preferred.
  • Valid Driver’s License and ability to satisfy criteria to be a driver for FREE.
  • Ability to work in a team environment with flexibility, keeping others informed and anticipating needs.
  • Must be efficient, well organized, and have excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
