About the Role
The Global Accounts Director will develop trust-based relationships with clients, gaining a deep understanding of their international business needs. This role is accountable for managing client relationships, developing tailored solutions using EDC's products, and influencing internal teams. The Director will also develop and implement sector strategies to support trade diversification and economic transformation, engaging with internal and external stakeholders.
Responsibilities
- Serve as a strategic partner for customers and engage with their senior executives focusing on continuous value creation, partnership building and long-term growth.
- Prospect and grow business by developing a network of senior contacts and representing EDC with various stakeholders.
- Combine knowledge of transaction structures and risk analysis with customer insights to provide guidance and growth opportunities.
- Mobilize cross-functional teams to support clients/prospects and deploy sector strategies.
- Develop, plan, and implement detailed sector strategies to support trade diversification and economic transformation.
- Develop deep insights and intelligence on sector/market developments, anticipating emerging business ecosystem, risks, opportunities, and trends.
- Influence EDC’s perspectives and interests, providing key insight and advice for decision-making, strategic planning, and risk management.
Requirements
- Undergraduate Degree in Business Administration, Finance, or relevant field.
- Minimum 7-10 years of business development experience, including client relationship management with a focus on international financing transactions, gained through corporate, trade and/or investment banking roles.
- Advanced knowledge of best practices in strategic account management.
- Knowledge of corporate capital raising instruments and market forces driving their utilization.
- Demonstrated ability to understand client strategy, potential solutions, and influence end solutions.
- Capital markets experience with credibility to work alongside large, sophisticated corporate clients.
- An existing, established, professional network of corporate and financial relationships.
- Ability to work legally in Canada (Canadian Citizens or Permanent Residents).
- Must meet requisite government security screening requirements.

- $112,006 - $171,742 annually, plus a performance-based incentive.
