About the Role

The CNC Programmer is responsible for driving improvements in the performance and capabilities of precision machining operations, including CNC Milling and Turning equipment. This role leads projects to optimize cycle times, improve yields, increase machine efficiencies, and introduce new products, while supporting manufacturing operations to deliver quality products on-time.

Responsibilities

  • Process development, machine programming, and prototype development.
  • Provide technical support to machinists and operators for smooth production runs.
  • Troubleshoot equipment issues and resolve problems related to tooling, setup, and machine performance.
  • Create part models, toolpaths, and machining instructions for CNC machines using CAD and CAM software.
  • Consult with engineering, program management, and quality regarding part quality and manufacturability.
  • Consult with customers and applications engineering on current and upcoming projects.
  • Participate in strategic improvement events to enhance throughput, profit margins, and manufacturing efficiency.
  • Lead quality improvement efforts for assigned work areas/programs.
  • Assist in new part creation processes, including BOMs, Routers, Work Instructions, training, and supplier qualifications.

Requirements

  • Hands-on experience with CNC machines, milling machines, lathes, grinders, and other precision machining equipment.
  • Expertise with horizontal and vertical 5-axis milling, multi-axis turning, and mill-turn.
  • Experience using precision measurement instruments such as micrometers, calipers, height gauges, and CMM machines.
  • Solid knowledge of manufacturing quality control processes and standards.
  • Ability to work independently and in teams in a fast-paced, high-tech environment.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, Outlook) and other relevant software.

Experience Level

  • 5 years related work experience in CNC programming

Education Level

  • Bachelor’s of Engineering Degree
  • MasterCam programming certification highly desired
