About the Role
Responsible for the production of low and high-volume, complex optical components with tight tolerances, involving training under close supervision.
Responsibilities
- Manage all day-to-day operations in the production optics lab.
- Meet daily production quotas.
- Package and ship optical components.
- Operate equipment for high-volume part manufacturing.
- Clean and visually inspect diamond-turned lenses.
- Inspect lenses using metrology equipment.
- Record inspection data, labor hours, and job information.
- Clean and maintain machines and metrology equipment.
- Ensure quality of all workmanship on finished parts.
- Perform machine adjustments and program parameter changes to maintain lens tolerance.
- Maintain a clean and organized work area.
- Execute production Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) fully.
- Work in various operational areas as needed.
- Perform other related duties and assignments.
Requirements
- Must be able to stand for long periods.
- Must be able to occasionally lift and/or move up to 75 pounds.
- Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete and abstract variables in situations where only limited standardization exists.

- Must be a good team player.
Skills
- Visual inspection of optical components.
- Use of metrology tools.
- Familiarity with principles of optics.
