About the Role
Conduct Quality Assurance audits and routine checks, tests, and inspections of materials, work in process, and finished product to ensure company and product standards are maintained and product integrity is preserved. Consult with the Quality Manager to resolve quality, production, and efficiency problems, and serve as an information source for critical quality issues.
Responsibilities
- Determine overall product quality by conducting and evaluating various visual and product tests for defects.
- Complete and interpret inspection paperwork and blueprints, including GD&T.
- Inspect incoming jobs from sub-contractors for quality and product integrity.
- Perform in-process, first piece inspection, and first article using various measuring equipment.
- Notify the Quality Manager when inspection data exceeds acceptable limits or when major incidents of poor quality are detected.
- Ensure all measuring equipment is calibrated within acceptable tolerances and timeframes.
- Assist in the development of special department projects and work in conjunction with the QA Manager.
- Cover for quality assurance personnel as needed.
- Perform product/process analysis for cost reduction, quality improvement, and improved efficiency.
- Work on special projects and various related assignments when requested.
- Perform other related work duties and assignments as required.
- Perform First Article Inspection from new or modified tooling.
Requirements
- Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete and abstract variables in situations where only limited standardization exists.
- Regularly required to sit, talk, and hear.
- Frequently required to use hands to finger, handle or feel.
- Occasionally required to reach with hands and arms.
- Occasionally required to climb or balance, stoop, kneel, crouch and/or crawl.
- Occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds.
- Specific vision abilities include close vision and color vision.
- Work independently with minimal supervision.

- Experience with operating or programming a Sheffield or Zeiss CMM preferred
Experience Level
- Minimum two years experience in quality control
Education Level
- Associates degree or equivalent in education and experience
