About the Role
AECOM is seeking a chartered Principal Electrical Engineer with data centre experience to lead projects and teams. This role involves designing innovative and sustainable electrical solutions for hyperscale and co-location data centres, working alongside a multidisciplinary team.
Responsibilities
- Deliver electrical designs in collaboration with other building services and wider disciplines.
- Undertake site supervision and inspection roles.
- Produce feasibility reports.
- Apply initiative under guidance and supervision.
- Project planning and management.
- Provide specialised technical input to studies and design.
- Preparation of contract documentation and specifications.
- Estimating and cost control on projects.
- Manage own workload and meet deadlines.
- Compile technical project reports.
- Present technical solutions to clients and peers.
- Participate in development of technical proposals.
- Attend design team and coordination meetings.
- Attend site inspection meetings.
- Liaise with clients, professional organizations, contractors, suppliers, sub-contractors and other design team members.
- Mentor and develop junior and intermediate engineers.
Requirements
- Team player with the ability to confidently deliver electrical designs.
- Post Graduate experience in a building services design role with a focus on data centres.
- Familiar with relevant regulations, standards, and industry good practice.
- Ability to travel to projects across the region and beyond, including occasional overnight stays and international travel.
- Ability to fulfill criteria to obtain Security Clearance.
- Self-starter who can use own initiative and is a problem solver.
