About the Role

AECOM is seeking a chartered Principal Electrical Engineer with data centre experience to lead projects and teams. This role involves designing innovative and sustainable electrical solutions for hyperscale and co-location data centres, working alongside a multidisciplinary team.

Responsibilities

  • Deliver electrical designs in collaboration with other building services and wider disciplines.
  • Undertake site supervision and inspection roles.
  • Produce feasibility reports.
  • Apply initiative under guidance and supervision.
  • Project planning and management.
  • Provide specialised technical input to studies and design.
  • Preparation of contract documentation and specifications.
  • Estimating and cost control on projects.
  • Manage own workload and meet deadlines.
  • Compile technical project reports.
  • Present technical solutions to clients and peers.
  • Participate in development of technical proposals.
  • Attend design team and coordination meetings.
  • Attend site inspection meetings.
  • Liaise with clients, professional organizations, contractors, suppliers, sub-contractors and other design team members.
  • Mentor and develop junior and intermediate engineers.

Requirements

  • Team player with the ability to confidently deliver electrical designs.
  • Post Graduate experience in a building services design role with a focus on data centres.
  • Familiar with relevant regulations, standards, and industry good practice.
  • Ability to travel to projects across the region and beyond, including occasional overnight stays and international travel.
  • Ability to fulfill criteria to obtain Security Clearance.
  • Self-starter who can use own initiative and is a problem solver.
