About the Role
Albany ENT & Allergy Services is seeking a Patient Coordinator responsible for managing patient appointments, ensuring accurate medical records, and coordinating external appointments using the NextGen system and other software.
Responsibilities
- Monitor tasks from providers and staff for patient orders, imaging, and out-of-office referrals.
- Process and coordinate imaging and outside testing for patients.
- Complete chart preparation by obtaining and reviewing clinical documentation and physician referral information.
- Ensure clinical notes and diagnostic reports are available prior to scheduled patient office appointments.
- Return patient phone calls and maintain patient communication for continuity of care.
- Obtain authorization for imaging and referrals as necessary.
- Scan documents into patient charts.
Requirements
- High school diploma or GED, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- 2-3 years of experience in a medical office and/or customer service preferred.
- Proficient computer skills, including the ability to master practice management software.
- Consistent professional conduct, meticulous attention to detail, critical thinking skills, and a positive and collaborative attitude.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Strong interpersonal skills with patients, staff, and other healthcare professionals.
