About the Role
The Restaurant Host is responsible for delivering a premier hospitality experience for members and guests, setting the tone for the dining experience by managing reservations and communicating preferences to the food and beverage team.
Responsibilities
- Greet and welcome members and guests with a warm, friendly, and professional demeanor, utilizing member names whenever possible.
- Manage reservations using club software (e.g., Jonas) to ensure accurate booking and seating times.
- Maintain member profiles, tracking preferences, special occasions, and dietary restrictions to provide highly personalized service.
- Handle inquiries and complaints gracefully, ensuring member satisfaction is prioritized and escalated to management when necessary.
- Control the seating chart and rotation, ensuring a fair distribution of tables among servers.
- Coordinate with service and kitchen staff to monitor the pacing of meals and table turnover rates.
- Promote club amenities and upcoming dining, social, or golf events to members.
- Maintain the host area and menus so they are clean, organized, and properly stocked.
Requirements
- Minimum of 1-2 years of host or customer service experience, ideally in upscale dining, resorts, or private club environments.
- Adhere to the country club’s business professional or hospitality uniform standards.
- Must be able to work flexible hours, including weekends, evenings, and major club holidays.
