About the Role

Responsibilities

  • Responsible for the efficient operation and maintenance of all computer systems, data and voice communications activities at property.
  • Provide a high level of IT support services to guests and staff as well as 24-hour coverage for computer systems, either on-site or remotely.
  • Perform configuration, installation, and troubleshooting of workstation hardware and software, including laptops, tablets, printers, and mobile devices.
  • Responsible for desktop imaging and configuration of server and workstation and backup systems.
  • Network administration, PC and network troubleshooting, network switch management, Mail Server management, operating system and application software upgrading.
  • Prioritization of multiple projects and demands on a weekly, daily, and hourly basis.
  • Anti-virus and firewall management, hardware configuration and troubleshooting.
  • Hotel-specific application maintenance and administration and installation of Ethernet cabling.
  • Communicate both verbally and in writing to provide clear direction to staff.
  • Interact positively with customers and take action to resolve problems to maintain a high level of customer satisfaction and quality.
  • Coordinate activities with other hotel departments to facilitate increased levels of communication and guest satisfaction.
  • Acts as Manager on Duty as required.
  • Complete projects and other tasks as assigned.

Requirements

  • Must be legally authorized to work in the United States.
  • Must be numbers-oriented, computer-literate including written communication, spreadsheet formulation and online order-entry and computer systems.
  • Ability to communicate and negotiate effectively with internal/external customers both in written and verbal format.
  • Deal with the general public, customers, associates, and government officials with tact and courtesy.
  • Ability to read and interpret business records and statistical reports.
  • Ability to use mathematical skills to interpret financial information and prepare budgets.
  • Interpret established policies and understand the government regulations pertaining to the business.
  • Make business decisions based on production reports and similar facts as well as on your own experience and personal opinions.
  • See differences in widths and lengths of lines such as those on graphs.
  • Must be able to change activity frequently, and cope with interruptions.
  • Must be flexible and able to work mornings, evenings, overnight, weekends and/or holidays depending on business demands.
  • Must be available to be on-call after working hours.

Skills

  • Proficient knowledge of Microsoft operating systems and applications.
  • Knowledge of and experience working with security management systems.
  • Understanding of advanced desktop infrastructure, commonly used concepts and practices.
  • Knowledge of networking as it pertains to all aspects of desktop support: TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, Wireless configuration (802.11x).
  • Knowledge of Opera (PMS), MICROS (POS), and HotSOS preferred.

Experience Level

  • 2+ year’s Help Desk, Desktop support experience required

Education Level

  • An Associate’s, Bachelor’s degree or technical institute’s degree/certificate in information Technology, information systems, of related technology field.
