About the Role
The FCA regulates financial services firms in the UK to ensure fair, thriving, and effective financial markets. This role is within the Market Intervention department, supervising and driving regulatory standards in payments and crypto asset firms. The payments services sector is increasingly significant, offering an exciting opportunity for personal development in an innovative, fast-expanding, and technology-based sector.
Responsibilities
- Assess how regulated firms generate revenue, evaluate associated risks to customers and markets, and determine risk management strategies to prevent customer harm.
- Evaluate regulated firms' adherence to relevant rules and requirements.
- Collaborate with senior industry figures to ensure compliance with rules and requirements, taking regulatory action when necessary.
- Work closely with colleagues across the FCA, other regulators, and law enforcement agencies domestically and internationally.
Requirements
- Demonstrable experience analyzing complex information and making sound, proportionate risk-based judgments and recommendations.
- Proven ability to build and manage relationships with stakeholders at all levels, including senior management.
- Effective written and verbal communication skills.
- Experience managing a varied, high-volume, and demanding workload with strong organizational skills.
- Experience with investigations or other problem-solving casework.
- Curiosity, drive, and motivation to continuously learn about and investigate issues within supervised firms and the industry.
- Willingness to learn, develop, take on new responsibilities, and adopt a flexible and pragmatic approach.
- Experience in effective teamwork to deliver outcomes and complete tasks.

- National (Edinburgh and Leeds) ranging from £53,800 to £63,000
- London from £59,200 to £69,000
