About the Role

Join our Valuation, Advisory/Analytics group as a Real Estate Valuation Analyst. This hybrid role, based in Toronto, offers exposure to appraisal, review, and management across various property types. You will learn client workflow processes and the Argus Intelligence Platform, gaining valuable experience in the real estate industry from a global leader.

Responsibilities

  • Become Argus Certified and grow knowledge within Commercial Real Estate.
  • Gain insights into property valuations and appraisals on diverse projects.
  • Be mentored by senior staff on various asset types.
  • Learn administrative tasks for the Altus client appraisal process.
  • Gain insights into market analysis and valuation of client properties.
  • Contribute to Argus Intelligence Platform setup, scheduling calls, and drafting engagement letters.
  • Prepare and review cash flow models using ARGUS Enterprise with client-provided financial data.
  • Learn appraisal processes, including market analysis, data gathering, and determining valuation assumptions.
  • Learn to review third-party appraisal reports and ARGUS Enterprise cash flow models for accuracy and compliance.
  • Ensure appraisal reports comply with USPAP and state regulations.
  • Complete On-Boarding Training and become ARGUS Certified.

Requirements

  • A Bachelor's degree in Real Estate, Finance, Economics, Accounting, or a related field.
  • Potential exposure to the CRE industry through internships.
  • Strong business writing, research, quantitative, and analytical skills.
  • Proficiency in Excel, including x-lookups, pivot tables, and DCF models.
  • Familiarity with ARGUS Enterprise is a plus.
  • Proactive, resourceful, and committed to continuous learning and certification.
  • Effective communication and collaboration skills.
  • Ability to convey technical information to non-technical stakeholders.
  • Willingness to work outside regular hours.
