About the Role
Join CMS’s Legal Tech team to help embed legal technology into day-to-day practice. This role combines product management, business change, and stakeholder engagement, focusing on driving adoption, improving user experience, and supporting the introduction of new technologies like generative AI.
Responsibilities
- Own the vision, roadmap, and objectives for assigned Legal Tech platforms.
- Define success measures and monitor adoption, usage, and business value.
- Develop and deliver adoption strategies, including self-service resources, support models, and role-based enablement.
- Gather user feedback to continuously improve tool positioning and adoption.
- Work with suppliers to manage service performance, product development, and issue resolution.
- Support contract renewals and commercial discussions.
- Ensure products comply with information security, risk, and data protection requirements.
- Partner with Legal Tech Delivery colleagues to support successful tool implementation on client matters.
- Support pilots, proof-of-concepts, and controlled releases of new capabilities.
- Act as a dedicated Legal Tech contact for an aligned Practice Group.
- Identify opportunities to improve existing processes or support new approaches to client work using legal technology.
- Design adoption plans and engagement activities tailored to Practice Group needs.
- Work closely with colleagues across Innovation, Legal Operations, and Project Management teams.
- Deliver training sessions and workshops.
- Facilitate discussions around the use of Legal Tech on matters and client engagements.
- Deliver client training, webinars, and learning sessions.
- Support responses to requests for proposals (RFPs).
- Create content and presentations showcasing CMS’s Legal Tech and Innovation capabilities.
- Participate in client meetings focused on technology-enabled legal services.
- Monitor legal technology market developments and identify opportunities for testing.
- Contribute to pitches and client opportunities where Legal Tech is a differentiator.
- Work as part of an agile product management team.
- Manage and prioritize product backlogs for assigned platforms.
- Share knowledge and collaborate with Legal Tech Product Managers, Legal Technologists, and Solution Engineers.
Requirements
- Proven experience in change management, legal technology, or innovation within the legal sector or another professional services environment.
- Experience practising as a solicitor is desirable but not essential.
- Strong people leadership and stakeholder engagement experience, with the ability to influence at all levels.
- Comfortable balancing strategic thinking with hands-on operational delivery.
- Experience working in Agile or iterative delivery environments would be a plus.
- Confident communicator, able to present, train, and explain complex tools.
- Experience with project scoping is a must.
- Solution-oriented, problem-solver, and self-starter mindset.
- Able to adapt and navigate a disruptive and changeable market.
