About the Role

This Management Development Program is a hands-on, accelerated path designed for recent graduates to learn how to run a business end-to-end, gaining practical experience, mentorship, competitive compensation, full benefits, and profit sharing, all while preparing to lead their own operation.

Responsibilities

  • Rotate through a structured, four-phase program providing visibility into business operations.
  • Own projects, manage accounts, and build customer relationships.
  • Make real business decisions with guidance from experienced leaders.
  • Gain hands-on experience in shipping, receiving, and inventory management.
  • Develop product knowledge and vendor coordination skills.
  • Handle customer service and counter sales.
  • Learn about pricing, credit, financial statements, and logistics.
  • Understand how products move from supplier to customer.
  • Support problem-solving and project management.
  • Build strong customer and vendor relationships.
  • Manage larger projects and complex orders.
  • Read blueprints and develop material quotes.
  • Deliver solutions-focused service.
  • Identify and win new business opportunities.
  • Negotiate contracts and grow key accounts.
  • Expand market presence and customer partnerships.
  • Learn proactive, strategic selling.
  • Lead and mentor a team.
  • Set strategy, vision, and performance goals.
  • Manage operations, profitability, and people.
  • Transition from trainee to business leader.
  • Grow sales, profitability, and market share in a Profit Centre Manager role.
  • Hire, train, coach, and lead a high-performing team.
  • Analyze financials and make strategic decisions.
  • Manage inventory, assets, marketing plans, and purchasing.
  • Build strong community and customer relationships.
  • Ensure exceptional service, safety, and operational excellence.

Requirements

  • Recent university or college graduates (all disciplines welcome)
  • Positive attitude, results-driven mindset, and a desire to learn
  • Strong leadership, customer service, and organizational skills
  • Strong work ethic, integrity, and the ability to work both independently and within a team
  • Excellent communication skills and the ability to build relationships with customers, vendors, and teammates
  • Interest in sales and business development
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office
  • Valid driver’s license
  • Successful candidates may be required to relocate within Canada to complete training.
