About the Role

As a SAP BW Developer, you will work in a dynamic environment shaped by digitalization, Big Data, and regulatory requirements of the energy industry. Your focus will be on advancing our Data Warehouse and reporting landscape around SAP BW on HANA. You will be responsible for the conception, development, and optimization of data models and data flows, ensuring that business-critical information is provided efficiently and correctly. You will work closely with business departments and stakeholders.

Responsibilities

• Development and advancement of data models and ETL processes in SAP BW
• Conception and implementation of data extractions from source systems (SAP and non-SAP sources)
• Creation and adaptation of BW objects (InfoObjects, ADSOs, Composite Providers, etc.)
• Performance optimization of existing data flows
• Development of HANA objects (Table Functions, Views, etc.)
• Monitoring operations, ensuring data quality, and error analysis and resolution
• Participation in the further development of the BW architecture and data strategy
• Close collaboration with business departments to translate business requirements into technical solutions

Requirements

• Completed university/university of applied sciences degree, preferably in Computer Science, Business Informatics, or Business Administration (or comparable knowledge or relevant professional experience)
• Several years of experience in development with SAP BW (BW on HANA or BW/4HANA)
• Very good knowledge of data modeling and ETL processes in the SAP BW environment
• Experience with SAP HANA (performance optimization, data modeling)
• Very good knowledge of ABAP (start routines, end routines, extractors) and SQLScript (AMDP, Table Functions, Calculation Views)
• Experience in integrating data from SAP IS-U or other SAP modules is desirable
• Ideally, experience with authorization management in SAP BW
• Experience with regulatory or financial data processes is desirable
• Basic understanding of the requirements in the deregulated energy market is an advantage
• Knowledge of reporting tools (e.g., SAP Analysis for Microsoft Office) is desirable
• Very good German language skills, both written and spoken
