About the Role
We are seeking a skilled and experienced Facilities Maintenance Technician to oversee the maintenance and repair of our building systems and infrastructure.
Responsibilities
- Perform maintenance service or repairs in one or more skill areas, including minor plumbing, carpentry, and painting.
- Ensure that all equipment is operating properly and ensure a safe working environment.
- Complete periodic and general maintenance tasks throughout the facility as assigned and according to the maintenance schedule.
- Perform weekly and monthly inspections on different equipment.
- Troubleshoot mechanical problems; visually check, test, and evaluate the condition of components and equipment.
- Perform all work in accordance with established safety procedures.
- Maintain accurate recordkeeping.
- Perform all maintenance duties, such as PM dock equipment, PM air conditioners, repair restroom fixtures, and maintenance of all buildings.
- Perform other related duties as assigned.
Requirements
- Minimum two years of related experience; preferably in a manufacturing environment.
- Ability to multitask, stay organized and meet deadlines.
- Strong attention to detail and safety awareness.
- Willingness to follow all safety procedures and site policies.
- Must be able to be on call after hours and weekends.
- Work is performed in a variety of settings.
- Subject to standing, walking, sitting, bending, reaching, pushing, and pulling, and at times subject to stooping, crawling, and climbing.
- Routine exposure to hazardous chemicals, inclement weather, and/or varying temperatures.
- May need to lift heavy objects of up to 50 pounds.
- Able to climb ladders and stairs and stand/walk for prolonged periods of time.
- Will consider employees who apply if they meet the position’s minimum criteria, have held their current position for at least 6 months and were not subject to disciplinary action in the past year.
Skills
- Knowledge of electrical, plumbing, HVAC, and mechanical systems.
Education Level
- High School Diploma or GED preferred.
