About the Role
As a Privacy & Data Protection Specialist at FIS, you will have the opportunity to work on challenging and relevant issues in financial services and information technology, representing a thriving Fortune 500 company.
Responsibilities
- Provide advice, monitor compliance, risk assess, and assist in running operations to comply with global privacy and data protection laws.
- Verify business compliance with privacy and data protection regulations.
- Act as a partner to the business, leading initiatives, providing consultative advice, and serving as a point of escalation for privacy and data protection matters.
- Deputize for the Chief Privacy Officer, Data Protection Officer, or any other team member as necessary.
- Support the implementation of FIS’ privacy and data protection compliance program.
- Provide advice on various privacy and data protection issues, including compliance with global laws.
- Assist business units with understanding Technical and Organizational Measures (TOMs) and Supplemental Measures.
- Implement and update privacy related procedures, best practices, and guidelines.
- Support the implementation of the Binding Corporate Rules.
- Monitor changes in global Privacy & Data Protection laws and work with FIS business leaders to address these developments.
- Assist the Data Protection Officer in monitoring compliance with applicable laws and FIS’ policies.
- Assist the Data Protection Officer in the event of regulatory audits, complaints and investigations.
- Manage personal data incidents and breaches together with the global privacy incident response team.
- Manage Records of Processing, Data Protection Impact Assessments, Transfer Impact Assessments, and Data Subject Rights Requests.
- Monitor new and upcoming global Privacy & Data Protection laws and work with FIS business leaders to address these developments.
- Assist in the assessment, escalation, and notification of Privacy incidents.
- Conduct data audits and policy and notice updates.
- Monitor compliance with global privacy and data protection laws.
- Risk assess new FIS products.
- Assist the Chief Privacy Officer, Data Protection Officer, or any other team member.
Requirements
- Minimum of 3+ years in the privacy and data protection area with a full understanding of privacy and data protection issues.
- Strong analytical and advisory skills, including the ability to review and evaluate multi-faceted issues and counsel business colleagues on complex questions relating to product development and compliance.
- Ability to use creative problem-solving skills to resolve issues in a pragmatic and sound manner.
- Strong communication skills, including the ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing, with senior management, and internal and external clients.
- Ability to balance the company’s goals and the client’s needs.
- Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with customers and colleagues.
- Ability to work collaboratively with other team members.
- Ability to mentor others in their professional development.
- Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously, including the lead role in a wide variety of matters.
