About the Role

This role is integral in helping to drive our Disputes practice group strategy, with a specific focus on several Litigation practice areas. You will help the practice maximize opportunities to grow revenues, raise our profile, and leverage resources effectively. You will work with disputes partners and other team members to develop and implement M&BD plans, ensuring a structured approach to targeting, client development, pitching, and marketing campaigns.

Responsibilities

  • Develop business and M&BD plans in collaboration with practice heads and partners.
  • Conduct market analysis to support business planning.
  • Manage the implementation of M&BD plans and budgets, monitoring progress.
  • Liaise with global Disputes M&BD team members and other practice/client/sector M&BD teams.
  • Develop and implement M&BD initiatives and campaigns.
  • Lead on pitches and promote pitching best practice.
  • Identify new business opportunities and support strategy development.
  • Champion the firmwide client feedback program.
  • Shape and implement campaigns and thought leadership projects.
  • Deliver marketing communications programs, including seminars and client events.
  • Manage internal reporting and communication of M&BD activities.
  • Maintain M&BD information and knowledge for pitches.
  • Run M&BD training sessions for partners, lawyers, and non-fee earners.
  • Manage and contribute to wider M&BD projects.
  • Provide line management for one team member.
  • Offer advice and support to other Disputes M&BD team members globally.

Requirements

  • Previous experience working in a business development role in a legal or similar professional services firm.
  • Knowledge and experience of working with disputes lawyers.
  • Previous line management experience.
  • A highly collaborative team player with a track record of working with others across geographies.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills.
  • An ability to influence and persuade.
  • A highly motivated and enthusiastic self-starter with a can-do attitude.
  • An ability to be pragmatic, robust, diplomatic and resourceful.
  • Ability to adapt quickly to different situations and personalities.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills with an excellent eye for detail.
